May begins with the lovely Eta Aquarid meteor shower peaking around May 6, which will be visible from Australia. The magical image of shooting stars characterises the month: you'll get the chance to enjoy a shower of celestial blessings – if you take the time to look for it. The Eta Aquarid meteor shower is the tail-end of Halley's comet, which the Earth will pass through, bringing the ‘shooting star’ effect from the comet’s tail. The meteors are best viewed high in the eastern sky just before dawn.

The month also begins with a harmonious aspect between the Sun and Neptune, which can spark a resurgence of romance and love. This will help to counteract the ongoing Chiron-Saturn ‘square’ (90-degree angle) which may bring your vulnerabilities or weaknesses to the surface. The Chiron – Saturn square will continue to a lesser and greater degree throughout the year, and, rather than merely expose your weaknesses, it offers the chance to strengthen those areas of your life - and your own character – that you feel require a spritz of energy and lightness of being.

So May is very much the month to look for ways to boost your circumstances – by focusing on your strengths to overcome your weaknesses.

The Mercury-Uranus alignment on May 10th will help bring some of the decisions and ideas you formulated in April into clear focus, and key information and choices mid-May could set in motion an inspired adventure or project. This will coincide with the Scorpio Full Moon on the 11th, which will provide a healing or supportive foundation for your projects, ideas and relationships ...This first phase in May really is an excellent time to put in place adventurous projects, and also to forge stronger ties with those you love.

And yet more inspiring news this month is the exact alignment of Saturn with Uranus, adding credence to the sense that new adventures really can take shape in real terms. It’s a case of being courageous and taking practical steps to make your dreams come true. Opposition to your plans may seem challenging, but will promote the opportunity to correct your path if you’ve gone off-track; or to perfect plans that have shown lack of substance.

Focus on building bridges with people you work and live with; and on creating strong foundations for exciting projects. The Gemini New Moon on May 26th will be a supermoon**, the closest of the year, and will help you to improve communications. It’ll be an excellent time to instigate travel plans, strategic work plans, to negotiate new projects – and to add a rosy tint of magic to your life.

** A supermoon can be at a New Moon and a Full Moon; and 'closeness' is denoted by the Moon being within 361,836 kilometers (224,834 miles) of the Earth.
