Our criteria

To be eligible for the Nature & Health Natural Food Awards, products must:
* contain organic, natural ingredients
* be GMO-free
* not contain refined flour
* not contain artificial preservatives, colours, flavours, or sweeteners
* not contain added sugar or high-fructose corn syrup
* not contain hydrogenated fats, nitrites, nitrates, sulphites, MSG
* be cruelty-free, vegan and/or vegetarian friendly
* not contain gluten
* not contain lactose
* be low in fat, sodium and sugar
* contain optimal amounts of fibre and nutrients
* most importantly – Award winners had to taste terrific!
We also gave the nod to products that use innovative natural and certified organic food ingredients; those which are Fairtrade; those which are produced and packaged sustainably, and that have a mission of ‘giving back’ in some way, e.g. by donating a percentage of profits to an eco-friendly or social cause.
